Just in case you were busy taking summer courses, working with students at summer school or were wrapped up at your second job last month, the Illinois state employees represented by AFSCME secured a 12% increase in their salary last month. The Springfield Education Association (SEA) applauds their efforts to stand strong and demand fair pay for fair work. The public obviously supports their state workers and they most certainly believe in their public education professionals as well. SEA looks forward to securing a fair contract for our members before the start of the 2019-20 school year, and we are certain the SPS186 Board of Education does too.
